The Kabul Tribune (KT) — World Health Organization Afghanistan says natural disasters do not impact all people equally, highlighting that women and children bear the brunt of humanitarian crises.

In a statement shared on social media, WHO Afghanistan noted that between 70% and 80% of those in need of emergency assistance are women and children.

The agency also said that approximately 75% of people displaced by natural disasters are women and children, underscoring their heightened vulnerability during crises.

The organization stressed that these figures reflect the harsh reality of emergencies, where existing inequalities are often intensified, leaving women and children at greater risk.
