The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has announced plans to host an art exhibition in London highlighting support for Afghan women and girls as part of Refugee Week 2026.

The organization said on X that the exhibition will be open to the public free of charge from June 12 to June 23 at Southwark Cathedral in London.

According to IOM’s UK office, the exhibition aims to showcase stories of struggle, resilience, and survival among Afghan women who have faced significant restrictions and pressure in recent years.

The agency said the event will reflect the experiences of displacement and rebuilding lives, featuring Afghan women still living under restrictions in Afghanistan as well as those who have restarted their lives in the United Kingdom.

The exhibition will include a range of artworks, including graffiti pieces by Afghan artist Shamsia Hassani, alongside photographic and visual collections by other artists documenting women’s experiences.

IOM added that the exhibition uses photography, personal stories, and visual art to bring attention to Afghan women’s lives and amplify their voices globally.

Since the Taliban’s return to power in 2021, women and girls in Afghanistan have faced sweeping restrictions on education, work, and public life, measures widely criticized by international organizations as having a profound impact on their daily lives.
