The Kabul Tribune (KT) — UNESCO Afghanistan has highlighted ongoing international support for skills development in Afghanistan, saying vocational skills help create opportunities and build stronger futures for young people.
In a post marking World Youth Skills Day (WYSD), UNESCO thanked Canada, the European Union, Sweden (Sida), the World Bank Group, and UNICEF for supporting skills development initiatives across Afghanistan.
UNESCO said strengthening vocational and technical skills is key to expanding opportunities for Afghan youth and promoting long-term development.
World Youth Skills Day is observed annually on July 15 to highlight the importance of equipping young people with technical, vocational, and entrepreneurial skills for employment and sustainable development. In Afghanistan, international organizations have continued to support vocational training programs aimed at improving livelihoods and expanding economic opportunities, particularly for young people facing limited access to education and employment
