The Kabul Tribune (KT)— An international agriculture and livestock exhibition opened in Kabul on Tuesday, bringing together hundreds of domestic companies and a number of foreign businesses and traders to showcase agricultural products, livestock and related technologies and services.

The six-day exhibition aims to help farmers and livestock producers market their products while providing a platform for industry participants to exchange experience and promote innovation, Taliban officials said.

Hamidullah Fitrat, deputy spokesman for the Taliban, said the exhibition is intended to create greater market opportunities for farmers and livestock producers and strengthen cooperation among businesses and other players in the sector.

Agricultural and livestock products from Afghanistan, along with technologies and services related to the two sectors, are being displayed at the exhibition, organizers said.

Officials said the event could help promote domestic products, expand exports, attract investment and establish direct links between producers and domestic and international markets.

Agriculture and livestock are among the key sectors of Afghanistan’s economy, with many Afghans relying on them for their livelihoods.
