The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Afghanistan's central bank, under the Taliban administration, is working to increase the number of automated teller machines, or ATMs, across the country to improve public access to cash and banking services, a bank spokesman said.

Hasibullah Noori, spokesman for Da Afghanistan Bank, said expanding the ATM network would make it easier for people to withdraw cash and access banking services.

He said efforts were also underway to expand and improve banking services across Afghanistan.

About 350 ATMs are currently operating nationwide, according to the bank.

Da Afghanistan Bank said it was working to increase that number as part of efforts to expand banking services and improve access for people in different parts of the country.
