The Kabul Tribune (KT)— Taliban acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi said Afghanistan is ready to implement existing agreements with Kyrgyzstan and pursue new joint projects aimed at expanding trade, investment and economic cooperation, Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry said.
Muttaqi made the remarks during a telephone call with
Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Minister Zheenbek Kulubaev, in which the two sides
discussed economic and political relations between the countries, according to
the ministry.
Muttaqi said relevant Afghan institutions would provide
comprehensive support for the implementation of joint projects and the
expansion of economic and trade ties.
The two officials also discussed high-level visits and
regular political engagement as part of efforts to strengthen relations between
Kabul and Bishkek.
Muttaqi described Kyrgyzstan’s election as a non-permanent
member of the United Nations Security Council as an important achievement and
emphasized the importance of cooperation and mutual support between the two
countries in that framework.
The ministry did not provide details of any specific new
agreement or project resulting from the call.
