The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The United Kingdom’s special envoy for Afghanistan, Richard Lindsay, said he had recently visited Kabul, where he met with ministers, nongovernmental organizations and civil society groups.
In a post on X, Lindsay said he encouraged steps to promote
regional stability, combat terrorism and uphold the rights of women and girls.
He also highlighted what he described as the United
Kingdom’s significant contribution to supporting the Afghan people.
Lindsay’s statement did not specify which officials or
organizations he met during the visit or whether any agreements were reached.
The visit comes amid ongoing international concerns over
security in Afghanistan and restrictions on the rights of women and girls under
the Taliban authorities.
