The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Afghanistan’s acting permanent representative to the United Nations, Nasir Ahmad Faiq, condemned the shooting near the White House that killed two U.S. National Guard members, saying no community should be stigmatized because of the actions of a single individual.

Posting on X Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025, Faiq described the attack as “shocking and unacceptable” and expressed condolences to the victims’ families. He emphasized that the incident must be thoroughly investigated and justice ensured for those affected.

U.S. authorities have claimed that the suspect in Wednesday’s shooting is an Afghan citizen. The attack occurred around 2:15 p.m. near the Foggy West Metro station in central Washington, where the assailant fired at two National Guard members.

Following the incident, former U.S. President Donald Trump called for a review of the cases of all Afghan refugees who entered the country during the Biden administration.
