The Kabul Tribune (KT) - U.S. President Donald Trump has warned Iran to swiftly agree to a new nuclear deal, saying that a “massive armada” led by the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln is heading toward Iran and is prepared to use force if necessary.
In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump said the fleet is larger than previous U.S. deployments toward Venezuela and described it as “ready, willing, and able” to rapidly carry out its mission. He urged Tehran to “come to the table” and negotiate a “fair and equitable deal” that would result in Iran having no nuclear weapons.
“Time is running out,” Trump wrote, warning that failure to reach an agreement could lead to severe military consequences. He referenced what he called “Operation Midnight Hammer,” which he described as causing major destruction in Iran, and cautioned that any future attack would be “far worse.”
Iranian officials have not publicly responded to the remarks.
Trump had also previously warned Iran that if it executed protesters, the United States would respond militarily, a threat aimed at deterring violent crackdowns during widespread domestic unrest.
