The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Geo News has reported that an explosion occurred near an imambargah in Islamabad’s Tarlai area on Friday, prompting an immediate response from police and rescue teams.
According to the broadcaster, law enforcement personnel and
emergency responders rushed to the scene and launched relief and rescue
operations. Injured individuals were shifted to the Pakistan Institute of
Medical Sciences (PIMS) for treatment. Authorities have not yet released
details on the number of casualties.
The blast comes days after deadly attacks in Balochistan
that left 36 civilians — including women and children — and 22 security and law
enforcement personnel dead. The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed
responsibility for the assaults.
On Jan. 31, militants carried out coordinated attacks
targeting civilians in Quetta, Mastung, Nushki, Dalbandin, Kharan, Panjgur,
Tump, Gwadar and Pasni, Geo News reported.
A day earlier, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR),
the military’s media wing, announced that security forces had concluded
Operation Raddul Fitna 1, killing at least 216 militants in a series of
coordinated engagements and clearance operations.
The ISPR said operations were launched in Panjgur and on the
outskirts of Harnai district on Jan. 29, 2026, after intelligence reports
confirmed the presence of militants posing what it described as an imminent
threat to the local population.
During that phase, security forces targeted what the
military called terrorist hideouts, killing 41 militants allegedly linked to
Indian proxy networks.
The military said it subsequently carried out broader intelligence-based
operations in multiple areas to dismantle what it described as sleeper cells
through sustained combing and clearance efforts.
