The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Iran has strongly condemned the Israeli political-security cabinet’s recent decision to confiscate additional Palestinian land in the occupied West Bank.
In a statement issued Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, Iran’s Foreign Ministry quoted its spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, as denouncing the move, saying it aims to expand what he described as illegal settlements, consolidate the “occupation,” and entrench security control over parts of Palestinian territory.
Baghaei said the decision comes as what he described as “genocide in the Gaza Strip” continues. He also referred to ongoing Palestinian casualties in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as what he called widespread violations of human rights and international humanitarian law, including unlawful detentions and alleged torture of Palestinian detainees.
He characterized the actions as part of a broader policy aimed at the “genocide of Palestinians and the colonial erasure of Palestine.”
Baghaei said all governments share a collective responsibility to prevent what he described as the continuation of the “genocide of the Palestinian people” and the escalation of land confiscations.
He also blamed Israel’s perceived impunity and what he described as comprehensive support from the United States and several European countries, particularly Germany and United Kingdom, for the continuation of the situation. He criticized what he called inaction by the United Nations and other international bodies regarding Israel’s expansionist policies.
Baghaei reaffirmed Iran’s longstanding position in support of what he described as the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
