The Kabul Tribune (KT) - US President Donald Trump has warned that Iran has a limited amount of time to agree to a deal with Washington, saying the situation could change if negotiations fail.
According to Fox News, Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One that the United States is determined to secure an agreement.
“We’re going to make a deal, or we’re going to get a deal one way or the other,” Trump said.
The talks are mainly focused on Iran’s nuclear program, which US officials say has advanced closer to weapons-grade enrichment. The United States and Israel are also calling on Iran to halt its long-range ballistic missile program, stop supporting armed groups in the Middle East, and end the use of force against protesters.
Trump suggested that Iran has no more than “10 to 15 days” to reach an agreement, warning that it would be “unfortunate” if diplomacy fails.
US Vice President JD Vance told Fox News that while discussions have shown some progress, the US has set “red lines” that Iran has not yet agreed to accept.
Negotiations with Tehran remain ongoing. Iranian officials have indicated that talks are continuing, but have said an agreement will not be reached quickly.
Trump’s comments come amid heightened tensions in the region, including Iranian military drills with Russia and the movement of additional US military assets toward the Middle East.
Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, has also warned of possible military action despite ongoing diplomatic efforts.
