The Kabul Tribune (KT) - U.S. President Donald Trump declared that he will “never” allow Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon, calling the country the “world’s number one sponsor of terrorism.”
Speaking during his annual address to Congress, attended by members of both parties in the House and Senate, Trump emphasized a firm stance against Tehran. He also referenced the late Qassem Soleimani, former commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, who was killed in a U.S. strike in Iraq, calling him the “father of roadside bombs.”
Trump said that while he prefers to resolve issues with Iran through diplomacy, “one thing is certain: I will NEVER allow the world’s number one sponsor of terror to have a nuclear weapon. We have to be strong. It’s called peace through strength.”
He stressed that maintaining U.S. strength is critical to ensuring global peace, even as tensions between Washington and Tehran remain a key focus of both countries’ foreign policy.
