The Kabul Tribune (KT) - International media report that Israeli missile attacks struck near the office of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, with Iranian state media confirming explosions in the area.

Some media reports indicate that the 86-year-old Khamenei was not in Tehran at the time of the attack. He has not been seen in public in recent days amid rising tensions with the United States, and the exact target of the strike remains unclear.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Katz said that the government had carried out a "pre-emptive" strike against Iran to eliminate threats, without providing further details. He also warned that missile and drone attacks against Israel and its civilian population could follow.

The strike comes as the United States has deployed warships and fighter jets to the region amid efforts to pressure Iran over its nuclear program.
