The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The Pakistani Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, in a telephone call with Seyed Abbas Araghchi, condemned the “unwarranted attacks against Iran,” according to a statement from the Pakistani Foreign Ministry.
The statement noted that both sides reviewed the evolving
situation in Iran and the wider region. “FM Dar strongly condemned the
unwarranted attacks against Iran and called for an immediate halt to escalation
through urgent resumption of diplomacy to achieve a peaceful, negotiated
resolution to the crisis,” it said.
The call came hours after coordinated United States and Israel
strikes on multiple targets inside Iran, part of a rapidly escalating
confrontation between the longtime adversaries. Iran said it responded with
missile launches toward Israel and several Gulf states hosting U.S. military
facilities, according to state media.
Meanwhile, Iran launched missile attacks on U.S. military
bases in Gulf countries, which were widely condemned by Saudi Arabia and other
regional states.
Neither the U.S. nor Israel immediately commented on
Pakistan’s condemnation. Officials in Islamabad said they were closely
monitoring the situation.
