The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Iranian authorities have claimed that 206 students and teachers have been killed and 161 others injured since the start of the conflict and attacks involving the United States and Israel, according to Iranian state media.

Islamic Republic News Agency reported that Iran’s education minister Alireza Kazemi made the remarks on March 11, 2026, on the sidelines of a funeral ceremony for military commanders killed during the conflict.

Kazemi said several educational facilities were also damaged during the attacks.

Meanwhile, Tasnim News Agency quoted local officials as saying that in Iran’s Lorestan Province at least 52 schools and five health centers were damaged as a result of the strikes.

According to the province’s governor, the attacks also destroyed more than 2,500 residential and commercial units across 10 counties in Lorestan.

Reports further indicated that 13 sports facilities as well as two Red Crescent and rescue bases were also targeted during the attacks.
Tensions between Iran, the United States and Israel have escalated in recent weeks amid military strikes and countermeasures in the region. The developments have raised international concern about civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure, while calls continue for restraint and efforts to prevent a wider regional conflict.
