The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The Taliban’s Ministry of Defense confirmed Friday evening that during the “Radd al-Zulm” operations, its forces targeted a major Pakistani military site known as Hamza in the Faizabad area of Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.
According to a statement from the ministry, the drone
strikes precisely hit the command center and other critical facilities of the
targeted site. The ministry added that the attacks inflicted heavy casualties
and material losses on Pakistani forces.
The strikes come amid claims by Atallah Tarrar, Pakistan’s
information and broadcasting minister, that since the start of recent clashes
between Taliban and Pakistani forces, 663 members of the Taliban and the Tehrik-i-Taliban
Pakistan (TTP) have been killed, and over 887 others wounded.
Tarrar wrote on his X account Friday, March 13, that during
the fighting, 249 checkpoints were destroyed, 44 seized, and 224 tanks, armored
vehicles, and artillery pieces were also eliminated. He also used the term “Fitna
al-Khawarij”, a label Pakistani officials apply to the TTP.
The escalating violence highlights the intensifying conflict
along the Afghanistan–Pakistan border, with both sides claiming significant
operational gains while civilian casualties and regional tensions rise
