The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Pakistan’s Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar said the country’s security forces intercepted two drones that he claimed were operated by militants, rejecting earlier Taliban claims that their forces had struck a Pakistani military site.

In a post on the social media platform X, Tarar said the drones were intercepted using electronic countermeasures and forced to crash before reaching their targets. He added that no military or other infrastructure was hit and that only minor damage occurred from falling debris.

Tarar also accused the Taliban administration of spreading what he described as propaganda and said the claims lacked verifiable evidence.

His statement came after the Taliban Ministry of Defense earlier said it had carried out drone strikes on a Pakistani military facility in the Faizabad area of Islamabad, claiming the attack caused significant casualties and damage to military infrastructure.

Tensions between the Taliban and Pakistan have escalated in recent days, with both sides making conflicting claims about cross-border attacks and military operations.
