The Kabul Tribune (KT) - Attaullah Tarar, Pakistan’s Minister of Information, has said that the country’s armed forces carried out airstrikes targeting Taliban positions in the provinces of Kabul and Nangarhar on Monday night.
According to him, the strikes targeted military facilities and ammunition depots. As a result, technical support infrastructure and ammunition storage centers at two locations in Kabul were destroyed.
Pakistan’s Ministry of Information also said in a statement that secondary explosions following the strikes indicated the presence of large ammunition stockpiles at the targeted sites.
Islamabad further reported that four Taliban military bases were targeted in Nangarhar province, where logistics infrastructure, ammunition, and technical equipment were destroyed.
In response, Taliban authorities claimed that the strikes hit a drug rehabilitation center in Kabul, leaving hundreds dead.
Pakistani officials have rejected these claims, insisting that the attacks were carried out with precision and only targeted facilities allegedly used to support Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and other militant groups.
They also stated that the strikes were conducted as part of "Operation Ghazab Lil Haq," and that the operation will continue until its objectives are fully achieved.
