The Kabul Tribune (KT) - Pakistan’s Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, has said that Pakistan’s recent military operations in Afghanistan are part of the country’s efforts to combat “terrorism.”

In a statement on Monday, marking Pakistan’s National Day on March 23, Dar said militant groups such as TTP (Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan) and BLA (Baloch Liberation Army) pose serious threats to Pakistan’s security.

He added, “Pakistan remains firmly committed to eradicating the menace of terrorism. Pakistan’s actions inside Afghanistan against the threat of Fitna-al-Hindustan and Fitna-ul-Khawarij/TTP are directed towards this goal.”

Dar also claimed that Pakistani forces have made significant sacrifices in operations against these groups.

Pakistan has long accused the Taliban of supporting militant groups—a claim the Taliban consistently deny. Despite this, clashes between Taliban forces and Pakistani troops have intensified over the past month, with the United Nations reporting that civilians have been the hardest hit.
