The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The Guardian reported, citing a Saudi intelligence source, that Saudi Arabia has urged the United States to escalate its military campaign against Iran, while also weighing the possibility of direct involvement in the conflict.

According to the report, Mohammed bin Salman has communicated to Donald Trump that the ongoing war should not be halted, framing the joint U.S.-Israeli military actions as a “historic opportunity” to reshape the Middle East and counter Iran’s regional influence.

The Guardian said Saudi leadership views the current escalation as a strategic moment to shift the balance of power in the region, particularly amid longstanding tensions with Iran.

The report added that discussions within Saudi Arabia include the option of more direct engagement, although no final decision has been publicly confirmed.

Trump, speaking to reporters on Tuesday, appeared to confirm alignment with the Saudi crown prince’s stance.

“Yes, he is a warrior. He is fighting with us,” Trump said, referring to bin Salman.

The developments come amid rising regional tensions and fears of a broader conflict, as diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation remain limited.
