The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is set to travel to China on Tuesday, April 1, at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said.

In a statement released Monday, March 30, the ministry described Pakistan and China as “all-weather strategic cooperative partners,” emphasizing their close coordination and regular consultations on regional and international issues.

The ministry said the visit would provide an opportunity for both sides to hold in-depth discussions on regional developments, as well as bilateral and global issues of mutual interest.

Despite medical advice to rest following a minor shoulder injury sustained a day earlier, Dar will proceed with the trip, underscoring the importance Islamabad places on its relationship with Beijing, the statement added.

The visit comes a day after Pakistan hosted the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt in Islamabad, where they discussed ongoing regional tensions.

According to reports, Pakistan has also expressed its readiness to host potential peace talks between the United States and Iran.
