The Kabul Tribune (KT) - Taliban authorities say 429 migrant families returned to Afghanistan from Iran and Pakistan on Monday.

The Commission for Addressing Migrants’ Problems said 318 families entered through the Torkham crossing, 46 through Spin Boldak, 35 via the Pul-e-Abrisham border in Nimroz, and 30 through the Islam Qala crossing.

The commission added that nearly 300 additional migrant families also returned to the country the previous day.

The returns come amid rising regional tensions, with a large number of Afghan migrants reportedly returning from Iran. Pakistan has also intensified the deportation of Afghan migrants following recent clashes with Taliban authorities.
