The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Widespread flooding across Afghanistan has killed more than 100 people, including children, as heavy rains continue to batter the country, according to the humanitarian organization Save the Children.
“Floods come fast and can upend children's lives in seconds. Urgent action is needed to protect lives,” said Samira Sr, a spokesperson for the organization.
Authorities warn that more rain is expected in the coming days, raising concerns over additional casualties and displacement.
Humanitarian agencies are calling for immediate support to provide emergency aid, including shelter, food, and medical care, for the communities most affected by the flooding.
