The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said two key measures — a ceasefire in Lebanon and the release of Iran’s frozen assets — must be implemented before any negotiations begin.
In a statement, Ghalibaf said the conditions had already been agreed upon by the parties but remain unfulfilled, stressing that talks cannot proceed without their implementation.
His remarks come amid heightened regional tensions, as disputes continue over whether Lebanon is included in the broader ceasefire framework and ongoing military actions in the country threaten fragile diplomatic efforts.
The remarks come amid ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States, following recent military escalations and a fragile ceasefire linked to broader regional conflicts involving Israel, raising uncertainty over the prospects for renewed negotiations.
