The Kabul Tribune (KT) - The Acting Chargé d’Affaires of Afghanistan’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, Naseer Ahmad Faiq, has condemned the attack on civilians in Herat that took place on Friday.
Faiq said the incident highlights that Afghanistan remains insecure and that extremist groups continue to operate within the country, retaining the capability to carry out such attacks.
He further stressed that those responsible must be identified and held accountable.
The attack occurred in Injil district of Herat, where armed individuals opened fire on civilians in a recreational area, resulting in multiple casualties.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the incident.
