The Kabul Tribune (KT) — U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that the United States will impose a blockade on ships entering or exiting Iranian ports, according to a post on Truth Social.

“The United States to blockade ships entering or exiting Iranian ports on April 13 at 10:00 A.M. ET. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” Trump wrote in the post.

The announcement comes amid escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran, with no immediate official confirmation from U.S. defense authorities regarding the scope or implementation of the reported measure.

Tensions between the United States and Iran have sharply increased in recent months amid disputes over maritime security and nuclear-related negotiations. The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most critical shipping routes, through which a significant share of global oil supplies passes.

Earlier diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran have repeatedly stalled, while both sides have exchanged warnings over regional military and economic pressure measures
