The Kabul Tribune (KT) - U.S. Vice President JD Vance said the United States wants Iran to stop uranium enrichment and ensure that all nuclear material is removed from the country and placed under U.S. control.

In an interview with Fox News, Vance said Washington is seeking guarantees that Iran will not develop nuclear weapons, even if Tehran claims it is not pursuing them.

VICE PRESIDENT VANCE says the ball is in Iran's court after peace talks collapsed: "We made very clear, look, these are the things that we're willing to give, but these are the things that we must have. We must have the enriched material out of Iran. We must have their conclusive commitment to not develop a nuclear weapon."

"And I think that if the Iranians are willing to meet us there, then this can be a very, very good deal for both countries. If they're not willing to meet us there, that's up to them."

He said the outcome now depends on Iran’s response following the collapse of recent peace talks.
