The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The Taliban said their forces seized 95 pistols and 2,500 bullets during an operation in eastern Khost, according to a provincial spokesman.
Taliban provincial spokesman Mustaghfir Gurbaz said forces from the 203 Mansoori Corps recovered the weapons in the Nader Shah Kot district, specifically in the Zangikhel area.
He said the weapons were being smuggled from Pakistan into Afghanistan and were found hidden in a vehicle carrying two individuals.
Gurbaz said further details about the suspects and the operation had not been disclosed.
The Taliban have recently intensified security operations aimed at preventing arms smuggling across border regions.
