The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Amir Khan Muttaqi said he hopes the ceasefire in the region will continue in order to ensure security and stability for regional countries.
Muttaqi made the remarks on Thursday in Kabul during the opening ceremony of international wrestling competitions, saying that a sustained ceasefire would improve overall conditions and help expand international sporting events.
He also thanked Iranian athletes for participating in the event, saying their presence despite challenges was commendable.
The Taliban foreign minister further noted that he had recently held a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, during which he welcomed diplomatic efforts between Iran and the United States.
He emphasized that all issues should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.
