The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The Taliban Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation said 334 Afghan prisoners have been released from jails in Pakistan and returned to Afghanistan.

In a statement posted Thursday on X, the ministry said the individuals crossed back into the country over the past week via Spin Boldak and Torkham along the Durand Line.

According to the ministry, the detainees had been arrested in Pakistan due to lack of legal residency documents and had been held for up to three months.

The statement added that the returnees received initial assistance before being transferred to their home areas.

Last week, 82 Afghan prisoners were also released from Pakistani prisons and returned to Afghanistan.
