The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Donald Trump said he has ordered the U.S. Navy to take action against any boats placing mines in the waters of the Strait of Hormuz.
In a post on his social media platform, Trump said there
should be “no hesitation” in responding to such threats, adding that U.S.
mine-clearing vessels are already operating in the area and have been
instructed to intensify their activities.
He also claimed that opposing naval capabilities had been
significantly weakened, though he did not provide further details.
The statement comes amid heightened tensions in the region,
where the Strait of Hormuz remains a critical route for global oil shipments
and has frequently been at the center of security concerns.
