The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Richard Lindsay said he had held meetings with senior
Taliban ministers in Kabul, where he called for de-escalation of tensions with
Pakistan, the return of girls to school, and for women to be allowed to work.
In a post on X, Lindsay said he had “important meetings”
with Taliban officials and emphasized the need for easing regional tensions and
restoring access to education and employment for Afghan women and girls.
He also highlighted the role of local media and civil
society organizations supported by the United Kingdom, describing their work as
vital.
The Taliban have not immediately commented on the remarks.
Lindsay has recently traveled to Afghanistan, where he met
with a number of senior Taliban officials.
