The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Richard Lindsay has congratulated Matiullah Wesa after the Afghan education activist received the 2026 Liberty Prize in France.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Lindsay praised Wesa’s
efforts in supporting education for Afghan girls and women.
“His courage reminds us that Afghan men standing up for
Afghan women and girls, and supporting their right to education is vital for a
future where all Afghans can thrive,” Lindsay wrote.
Wesa is a well-known Afghan education activist who has
campaigned for access to education across Afghanistan, particularly for girls
affected by Taliban restrictions on education.
