The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation said Thursday that 491 Afghan prisoners were released from Pakistani prisons and returned to Afghanistan during the past week.
In a statement, the ministry said the individuals had been detained in Pakistan due to a lack of legal documents.
According to the statement, the released prisoners returned to Afghanistan through the Chaman-Spin Boldak and Torkham crossings along the Durand Line and received assistance after their arrival.
The ministry added that 527 Afghan prisoners were also released from Pakistani prisons and returned to the country during the previous week.
