The Kabul Tribune (KT) — An Afghan businessman has opened what is described as the first official authorized reseller of Apple Inc. iPhone devices in Afghanistan, aiming to strengthen the country’s mobile technology sector.
The head of the business, Mustafa Hakimzada, said the initiative is intended to boost the mobile market and create job opportunities for skilled young people.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, he said the company has previously been active in the electronics sector and plans to expand investments into business, education and other areas in the future.
At the same time, concerns have been raised about the quality of mobile devices available in Afghanistan. Despite the presence of hundreds of phone shops across the country, many reportedly sell products that lack standard quality and develop technical problems after short-term use.
The development comes amid growing demand for reliable and high-quality technology products in Afghanistan, where consumers have often faced challenges related to counterfeit or low-quality electronics.
