The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The Taliban’s Ministry of Public Works said that 235,362 metric tons of goods were transported through Afghanistan’s railway network over the past week.

Ministry spokesperson Mohammad Ashraf Haqshanas said the shipments were carried out between May 1 and May 7, 2026, across key rail corridors in the country.

According to the ministry, 160,063 tons were transported through the Hairatan border crossing, 18,695 tons through Aqina, 23,616 tons through Torghundi, and 32,988 tons via the Khaf–Herat railway line. The cargo included both imported and exported petroleum and non-petroleum goods.
