The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Residents in the Imam Sahib district of Kunduz said the Taliban have demolished dozens of homes in the “Dawlati Sherkatuna” area, prompting protests by affected residents.
Protesters told The Kabul Tribune on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, that the houses—where they had lived for years—were destroyed without any alternative housing arrangements, leaving several families homeless.
According to local residents, a number of women and children were injured during the demolitions, though the exact number of injured remains unclear.
The protesters said they had approached local Taliban authorities to seek a resolution to their concerns, but have not yet received any response.
Local Taliban officials have not commented on the incident so far.
