The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The Taliban said that a number of investors from Uzbekistan and China have expressed interest in investing in Afghanistan’s mining sector.
According to a statement from the Taliban’s Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, the investors recently visited Afghanistan and discussed potential investments in both metallic and non-metallic mineral resources.
The statement said the investors held talks with Hossamuddin Saberi, the ministry’s deputy for finance and administration, regarding opportunities for investment in the country’s mining sector.
During the meeting, the investors expressed readiness to invest, the statement added.
Saberi assured the investors of the Taliban’s support, including the provision of necessary facilities and legal cooperation for investment activities.
