The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The United Kingdom’s special envoy to Afghanistan said he held talks with a Taliban official in Doha on improving relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan and the inclusion of Afghan women and girls in society.
Richard Lindsay said in a post on X that he had a “valuable
discussion” with Suhail Shaheen on the need to take steps to strengthen ties
between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
He also highlighted the importance of including Afghan women
and girls in society, an issue that continues to draw international concern.
The meeting took place in Doha, where Shaheen is based as a
Taliban representative.
Relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan have remained
tense in recent months, amid ongoing security concerns and cross-border issues.
