The Kabul Tribune (KT) — At least one person was killed and three others were injured in a traffic accident in southern Afghanistan’s Helmand province, local authorities said.
The Taliban police command in Helmand said the incident occurred in the Sangilan area of Lashkargah city early Sunday morning, around 8 a.m., when a vehicle overturned while traveling from Kabul to Herat.
Officials said the vehicle, described as a four-wheel-drive, lost control due to driver negligence, leading to the crash.
The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, and one of them is reported to be in critical condition, according to the authorities.
Traffic accidents have increased in recent months across several provinces in Afghanistan, with officials citing reckless driving, poor road conditions, and failure to follow traffic regulations as key contributing factors.
