The Kabul Tribune (KT) — At least two people were killed and four others injured in two separate traffic accidents in central Afghanistan’s Maidan Wardak Province, local authorities said.

The Taliban police command in the province said the incidents occurred on Sunday (May 24) in Sayedabad district along the Kabul–Kandahar highway, specifically in the Haider Khail and Tangi Do-Lara areas.

According to officials, one person was killed and two others injured in the first accident, while another person was killed and two more were injured in the second.

The injured were transported to nearby medical centers for treatment.

Authorities attributed the accidents to driver negligence and urged motorists to exercise caution and follow traffic rules, especially ahead of Eid al-Adha.

Traffic accidents have increased in recent months on major highways across Afghanistan, particularly along the Kabul–Kandahar route, with reckless driving and poor road conditions cited as key factors.
