The Kabul Tribune (KT) — The Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation said that 373 Afghan prisoners have been released from prisons in Pakistan and returned to Afghanistan over the past three days.
In a statement issued Monday (May 25), the ministry said the individuals had been detained for lacking legal residency documents in Pakistan.
According to the statement, the returnees entered Afghanistan through the Chaman–Spin Boldak and Torkham crossings along the Durand Line, where they also received assistance upon arrival.
The ministry said 296 of the individuals returned via Torkham, while 77 others entered through Chaman.
The development follows a similar release last week, when 307 Afghan nationals were freed from Pakistani prisons and repatriated, according to the ministry.
