The Kabul Tribune (KT) — A total of 74 Afghan students have graduated from 27 universities across the United States under a Qatar-funded scholarship program, Qatar Tribune reported.
The graduation ceremony, held on June 2, brought together
students, academic institutions and representatives from Education Above All
Foundation, the Qatar Fund for Development, the Institute of International
Education and the Afghan Future Fund.
The graduates completed or are expected to complete their
studies during the fall 2025, spring 2026 and summer 2026 academic terms.
The Qatar Scholarship for Afghans Project was launched to
support 426 Afghan students whose education had been disrupted, enabling them
to continue their studies in universities across the United States.
Mohammed Saad Al-Kubaisi, chief executive officer of the
Education Above All Foundation, said the program reflects a commitment to
supporting Afghan students despite challenges.
He said the graduates demonstrated resilience and
determination in continuing their education under difficult circumstances and
emphasized the importance of education in promoting opportunity, stability and
long-term development.
The program provides full scholarship support for
undergraduate and graduate studies, aiming to help Afghan students rebuild
their futures and contribute to their communities.
Organizers said the initiative highlights the importance of
international partnerships in expanding access to education and supporting
young people affected by crises.
