The Kabul Tribune (KT) — An Uzbek company has expressed interest in investing in Afghanistan’s gold and copper mines, the Taliban’s Ministry of Mines and Petroleum said.
According to the ministry, representatives of the company visited Kabul and met Monday with Abdulrahman Qanet, deputy minister for programs and policy.
During the meeting, both sides discussed potential investment opportunities in Afghanistan’s gold and copper mining sector.
The ministry said Qanet welcomed the Uzbek side’s interest in investment and noted that follow-up discussions would be held through technical committees from both sides.
He added that the meetings would continue in the future to advance coordination and facilitate practical steps toward investment in the sector.
