The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Two people were killed in a traffic accident in Afghanistan’s Badakhshan Province, Taliban officials said.
The Taliban’s police command in Badakhshan said the incident occurred in the Bakhirab area of Kuf Ab district when a vehicle veered off the road and plunged into a river on Tuesday.
According to the statement, both occupants of the vehicle lost their lives in the accident.
Sources added that the bodies of the victims remain missing in the river, and search efforts are ongoing.
Officials said similar traffic accidents frequently occur in Badakhshan due to mountainous terrain and poor road conditions.
