The Kabul Tribune (KT) — A Taliban commission handling migrant affairs said that 688 migrant families returned to Afghanistan through multiple border crossings on the previous day.
Hamdullah Fitrat said the families entered the country via the Torkham, Spin Boldak, Islam Qala, and Nimroz border crossings.
According to the statement, the majority of returnees — 541 families — crossed into Afghanistan through Torkham.
The Taliban added that 67 families entered through Spin Boldak in Kandahar Province, 59 families through Nimroz, and 21 families via Islam Qala in Herat Province.
In recent months, the return and deportation of Afghan migrants from neighboring countries have increased, leading to a steady rise in the number of families returning to the country.
