The Kabul Tribune (KT) — An Indian trade delegation is expected to visit Afghanistan in the near future to explore investment opportunities, the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI) said.

The development follows talks between ACCI Chairman Sayed Mohammad Karim Hashemi and officials from India’s PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry during his recent visit to India.

According to ACCI, discussions focused on investment potential in sectors including mining, dried and fresh fruits, handicrafts, saffron and agriculture. Afghan officials invited Indian businesses to invest in these areas.

Indian counterparts pledged to send a 20-member delegation of traders and investors to Afghanistan to assess opportunities on the ground.

Both sides also discussed ways to expand economic and trade relations between Afghanistan and India and emphasized strengthening bilateral cooperation.

The planned visit comes as Afghanistan seeks to boost economic growth by expanding regional trade ties and attracting foreign investment.
