The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Two people were killed and three others injured in a traffic accident on the Jawzjan–Faryab highway in northern Afghanistan on June 27, 2026, Taliban police said.
According to a statement from the Taliban police command in Jawzjan, the accident occurred when a Luxel passenger vehicle collided with a Saracha minivan.
The statement said the three injured victims were transported to a hospital for medical treatment.
Taliban authorities attributed the accident to reckless driving and excessive speed by the drivers.
Traffic accidents remain a major cause of death and injury across Afghanistan, largely due to speeding, failure to observe traffic regulations, poor road conditions and vehicle mechanical problems.
