The Kabul Tribune (KT) — Afghanistan's private sector has signed six commercial agreements worth a combined $30 million to purchase industrial and manufacturing machinery from China, the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI) said on June 29, 2026.
According to the chamber, the agreements were signed between Afghan and Chinese private sector representatives during the International Manufacturing and Industrial Machinery Exhibition in Chengdu, China.
The ACCI said the Afghan delegation was led by board member Abdullah Rahimi. On the sidelines of the exhibition, the delegation also met with Chinese officials and business representatives to discuss Afghanistan's machinery needs, transportation of industrial equipment and opportunities to expand bilateral trade cooperation.
The chamber said the agreements are intended to supply Afghanistan with modern industrial machinery and strengthen the production capacity of the country's private sector.
Trade and economic ties between Afghanistan and China have expanded in recent years. China is one of Afghanistan's key trading partners, with both countries seeking to increase cooperation in trade, investment and industrial development.
